Silver Cross product launch invite, I'm so excited! Leapfrog Tag Junior review. Building work due to start and the baby is on the move.

Today I am so excited, I have been invited to the launch of two new Silver Cross products in London. There will be a full blog post and review to come after the event. Baby and myself have to be in London for 9am. No jeans, t-shirt and scraped back hair on that day. Positively buzzing, lol! More on that in a couple of weeks time. I just have to contain my excitement for a couple of weeks and looking forward to our little adventure.

Building work stopped on the extension once we finished the foundations. OH went back to work this week and was probably pleased to not be out there digging etc... because it is now raining. However, that does mean that we now have the swimming pool slowly filling up that I was keen to put in instead! The builder is due to start on Monday, followed by the floor and then the brickwork will start and it will all take shape. Something else to get excited about, I am the one left awaiting deliveries of bricks and cement though, which at least means I am in the house and not out at the shops, lol!

Oh and the baby is on the move, not crawling, but rolling and going backwards! So now nothing is safe, nothing can be left on the floor or it goes straight in the mouth and I leave the room for a few seconds and come back to find him heading under a sofa. I forgot how mobile they get so quickly. Who said the baby could grow up so fast??!

TODAY'S REVIEW IS THE LEAPFROG TAG JUNIOR; Suitable for age range 12 months to 4 years.

Today's review is of the Leapfrog Tag Junior reading system. It is in constant use by our 3 year old at the moment. There are currently 17 books available on the Leapfrog website and some flashcards coming soon too which look like they would be very handy and educational. (Must remember to make a note to get some). We currently have the green scout book pal which you use to read the books and learn different things. We currently only have 4 books in our collection but each one is geared to different things to learn, we have;

Jake and the Neverland Pirates teaches counting objects and number recognition
Toy Story 3 teaches character indentification, imaginative play and story telling
Curious George Colour Fun teaches Colours, matching and vocabulary
Sesame Street Monster Faces teaches emotions

and it comes with a demo book when you buy the Tag Reading Pal.

Each book tells a story or as in the Curious George book it does colours, as well as matching and vocabulary. The Sesame Street book covers different emotions which is good and each book is well illustrated and eye pleasing. The Tag Junior Pal is easy to handle for small hands and you just place it on the page of the book and it reads the story for you or tells you different things about what is on the page.

There are lots of other books available teaching a variety of numbers, letters, action words, friendship etc... and all with recognisable characters. We are extremely pleased with this purchase which has been going strong for over a year so far and is still the toy of choice at bedtime or quiet time. The carry bag is ideal for taking on car journeys and out and about as it keeps everything safe and together. We can fit our 5 books in it along with the reading pal.

RRP for the Tag Junior is around £24.99 with each book around £9.99. There are offers on at some shops and the books sometimes come up on a 3 for 2 offer at some retailers. Stockist include Toys r Us, Argos, Boots, ELC, Smyths Toys, Amazon, Hamleys and many more.

I am off to do some housework, after I have refuelled with tea and some Cadburys Oreo chocolate. My next review will be something for the teenagers, as my eldest is moaning at me that there is nothing in my blog for him! :-)
